What is the difference between Obstetrics and Gynaecology? Obstetrics

If you have been trying to conceive for more than one year (or 6 months if above age 35), it is recommended to consult a fertility specialist for evaluation and guidance.

Irregular periods can be caused by hormonal imbalances, PCOD, thyroid disorders, stress, significant weight changes, or underlying medical conditions. A gynaecologist can identify the exact cause through blood tests and ultrasound and recommend the right treatment.

Mild discomfort during periods is common, but severe pain that disrupts daily life is not normal. It may indicate conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, or pelvic inflammatory disease — all of which can be diagnosed and treated by Dr. N. Indira.

A small amount of clear or white odourless discharge is normal. However, discharge that is yellow, green, or has an unusual smell, is accompanied by itching or burning may indicate an infection and should be evaluated by a gynaecologist promptly.

Common menopause symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, irregular or stopped periods, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and sleep disturbances. Dr. N. Indira provides supportive care and treatment options — including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) — to manage these symptoms effectively.
